Firstly a very HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone connected with our football club. We hope that 2021 brings joy, happiness and lots of Blansko wins to all of us.

Well, they say that every new year brings change and it’s certainly no different at in Moravsky Kras. Out goes our manager Oldrich Machala and in comes Martin Pulpit from 3rd tier Rakovnik.

Over the past few years, we’ve got to know the staff at the club and we are genuinely saddened that the closest we got to say even a hello to Oldrich was when he clapped us from the centre circle at Varnsdorf. Good luck Mr Machala, we hope you have lots of success at your new club – we know you will be back in the game soon.

In comes Martin Pulpit, a coach who, how can we put it, brings a lot of experience. We can definitely understand why the club decided to make the change and with change brings optimism and opportunities for our fringe players. It’s not that the performances on the pitch haven’t been great, but we’re in a results business and we’re hoping Martin turns our good performances into 3 point wins as soon as possible. FORZA BLANSKO!!

In addition to Mr Machala leaving through the Blansko doors is the departure of Lukas “OH AH, KaniA” Kania, who after performing so excellently for us has been given a fantastic opportunity at SFC Opava in the Fortuna Liga. On our groundhops, we’ve been to Opava a couple of times, they have great support, a wonderful “British” style stadium and we’re sure they’ll look after him well. Lukas, we’ll miss your speed, energy and your Marge Simpson haircut. Who knows, maybe we’ll meet again in the future.

With Lukas on his way back up North, it leaves Pavel Halouska and Lukas Lahodny top of our charts in our very first Player of the Season awards. Yep, you read that correctly – we’re doing a player of the season award. Over years we’ve talked about doing this every season and ex-players like David Juran, Honza Trtilek, Jakub Splichal, Jirka Floder and David Bednar would have been well- deserved winners in years gone by. However, this is the first year we’ve actually bought a trophy. The leaders at the moment are.

  1. Kania 16pts
  2. Lahodny 10pts
  3. Halouska 8pts
  4. Kopicar 6pts
  5. Vasijlev 6pts
  6. Zak 6pts

Lukas Lahodny has been a consistent performer in midfield and on occasions a joy to watch and has anyone else noticed that Pavel Halouska has become Gianluigi Buffon since he shaved his beard off? Now, we’re big fans of a good beard, but Pavel, if you continue to play like that we’ll buy you a year’s supply of Gillette (the best a man can get) – you have been excellent.

Anyway, a trophy for our player of the season will be presented at the end of year, so feel free to get involved and message us your man of the match after every game.

And that’s probably about it from us at Klobasa headquarters this month. There’s not a lot to report from the club at the moment apart from the odd friendly. As coronavirus continues to grip the country, we’re not able to get to any of the games this winter, so even our planned visit to AS Trencin’s new stadium will have to wait for another year.

Let’s end on a positive and hope we WILL see you at a game this season. So, until that time – FORZA BLANSKO, ole, ole, ole!
